Production Planning and Control (PPC)
Production Planning and Control (PPC) is the central link between Sales, Planning, and Production operations. It ensures that production orders are planned in line with demand, managed efficiently, and implemented transparently. The CSB-System unites Planning and Control in one seamless process, integrated with related processes in other departments.
Integrated planning and control in the CSB-System
CSB combines production planning and operational control in one integrated solution. Planning data from Sales, Procurement, and Coverage Planning are transferred to actionable production orders, where they are directly available for implementation at the shop floor.
Planning horizons and resource integration
CSB Production Planning considers various planning horizons: short-, mid-, and long-term planning. Resources (people, machines, and materials) are considered in planning. This means that you can realistically assess available capacities and detect bottlenecks as early as possible.
Operational control of Production
In the context of Production Control, planned orders are transferred to lines, machines, or workstations for implementation. Progress, feedback, and status information is continuously returned to the CSB-System to update planning and downstream processes.
Seamless integration of related processes
PPC is deeply integrated with other functional areas, including Inventory, Quality Management, Maintenance, and Control Station. Changes in Production affect inventory levels, schedules, and evaluations. This creates a closed-loop system linking planning, control, and analysis.
Practical implementation with M-ERP and shop floor connectivity
In practice, planning data can be transferred to mobile ERP solutions (M-ERP) or terminals at the shop floor. Production batches can be flexibly generated, started, and send feedback – exactly where production takes place. This maximizes transparency, responsiveness, and data quality.
